Fissure Sealing

Fissure sealing is mainly a preventative treatment aimed at reducing the number of cavities that develop inside the natural grooves of your teeth, typically molar teeth. It is normal to have a certain amount of these stained fissures, and in many cases they do not cause problems, but to be on the safe side dentists recommend that many people have these sealed.

The process is a fairly simple one, which involves drying the teeth and applying a thin layer of a special kind of white filling material to the creases. No drilling is usually necessary.
